Would I like to go on a Disney Cruise?
A cabin for 4 had become available on the September 17, 11 nights sailing of the Disney Wonder cruise ship. The cabin was immediately put on a 3 hour hold by "Let’s Take the Kids Travel Agency" Manager.
Two minutes later I was asked if I would consider taking my family on this cruise.
The objective of “the assignment” being to experience first hand the difficulties, decisions, adventures, pleasures, etc involved in taking a Disney cruise and reporting these to our clients by way of our website on a regular daily basis, if possible. How could I accept this assignment?
Like all young families, we were up to our ears in commitments. We were smack in the middle of home renovations, and mortgage renegotiations. Our 5 year old daughter, Gabriella, was to begin her second year of Kindergarten….but this year in a French Immersion program. .. she would miss 2 weeks of school!!!. My 2 year old, Kiara, would be turning 3 on September 18. Kiara was looking forward to having the house and garden turned upside down by the hordes of kids and parents my wife, Maritala, feels are necessary to help celebrate any festive occasion. How could we consider disappointing her!!!
And then, there was my regular work load!
Would my loyal clientele at "Let’s Take the Kids Travel Agency" be able to survive 2 weeks without me.? Who would help them make decisions on their own holidays? Would they all rush off to Expedia and be lost forever, or would they remember my years of tireless service and wait for my return, meanwhile faithfully reading my daily reports of life on the high seas.
Five minutes of deliberation and the decision was made. As you can see from the attached photo we needed to grab the moment. We would take on this assignment!!.
So watch out Disney! here comes the Robinson family...
On to... The Adventure Begins

I wanted to comment so I suppose I'm now a Blogger!
We have loved reading your diary, and seeing the photos..they are great.Well done!
BUT most importantly ...........
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIARA.
WITH LOTS OF LOVE FROM ALL OF US HERE XXXXXXX
Thanks for the journal of the Robinson Disney Doings. Excellent!
However, whilst attempting to print out your report and distribute to various relatives, Dad has found it impossible to print the photos without them being truncated at page breaks. The text is all there, but not laid out as on the screen. You may not have any control over this but if you can make any suggestions as to how we may print it complete, please let us know presumably by e-mail?
How does Disney do Birthdays? We're looking forward to reading about Kiara's response/reaction to the day, as we're sure they put on some spectacular something or other!
Love from your screen watching family.
Hey everybody! Glad to see everyone's having a great time. Big hugs and kisses to Kiara for her birthday. The girls look like they're having a blast. Marisol is thinking of them-I will show her these photos tonight. St. Thomas will be so romantico!!!!!
Take care and keep having fun,
Isabel
We almost feel as though we are there with you, your description is so good! You are nearly able to persuade us the Disney cruise is a desirable holiday!
The photos are great and actually make things seem reasonably quiet and positively lacking in hype. Is this an illusion?
We are enjoying the daily news very much, and your humourous accounts brighten our day with their insights to the Robinson Family on holiday with Disney.
L'mum has the journal sent regularly, so she's in on the excitment too.
Keep up the good work.
lots of felicitations...M,D,H,J,L +S. F too if she were here.
P.S.
The princesses looked beautiful, ...mind you, the parents looked beautiful too.
Kiara's cake was certainly very...er...pink. How was the taste? Hope she enjoyed the day and thought it was a fair swap to share her day with Goofey, or Max, or Fred, or Ted,or even Belle, rather than the masses at home rearranging the garden etc.
signing off again, bye!
rather having the masses at home
Hi guys, It's me again!
